Wii New Releases February 16-22, 2009

Published by kjscrafts under New Releases Edit This

Battle Rage - This is a third person shooter robot fighting game.  It sounds kind of interesting, although I am not much into fighting or shooter games.  It has an arcade mode with a different storyline for each character.  Thus if you end upliking it it sounds like it has at least some depth to it and replay value.

Sing It: High School Musical 3  - This release is coming in a version with the mic and a version without the mic for $10 cheaper if you already own a Wii microphone peripheral.  This game features songs from all three High School Musical movies.  It has all 10 songs from the third movie and select ones from the other two.  It has a total of 25 songs and music videos. It includes the character Kelsi as a vocal coach and several multiplayer modes.  The game comes with a free child’s ticket to the upcoming Hannah Montana movie.

New Everybody Votes Poll and Result

The newest National poll results are in for When speaking to someone, do you make eye contact?   The majority (77.8%) said Yes.  The gender breakdown was 76.2% of males and 80.2% of females saying Teach him how to fish.  The National Prediction Accuracy was 78.9%.

Did you vote with the majority? Was your prediction correct?

The newest National poll is If you were stuck on an island, would you…prefer secure food or prefer secure shelter?  I guess I would prefer secure food, but barely more than shelter.  I am going to predict most will vote saying they prefer secure food.

What is your answer to this poll and what do you predict will be the most popular?

New Everybody Votes Poll and Result

The newest National poll results are in for A man would like a fish.  Do you…Give him the fish or Teach him how to fish.   The majority (64%) said Teach him how to fish.  The gender breakdown was 65.8% of males and 61.2% of females saying Teach him how to fish.  The National Prediction Accuracy was 61.1%.

Did you vote with the majority? Was your prediction correct?

The newest National poll is Do you prefer to purchase…Name-brand items or Generic-brand items?  It really depends on what is cheaper.  I guess I mostly purchase generic brand items, such as when grocery shopping, but sometimes name-brand is on sale and cheaper.  Technically I do not have a preference for most items, but I do tend to end up with name-brand most often.  I am going to predict most will say name-brand.

What is your answer to this poll and what do you predict will be the most popular?

Octomania for Nintendo Wii Review

Published by kjscrafts under Games, Puzzle Games Edit This

Octomania for Nintendo Wii

Octomania is an unique puzzle style game for the Nintendo Wii.  I like the whole puzzle concept of the game, but as a Wii game it ends up being somewhat frustrating because of the pointing controls being too sensitive.  Basically you just get the number of octopuses of the same color noted in the middle of a grid and that starts a chain.  You can then continue the chain by connecting more of the same color.  The way you move then is by pressing a and pointing.  It moves them in a four square area and this is the part that gets hard and often frustrating.  The screen just does not have the area to move them around without constantly being redirected to the wrong area by accident.  Also, it can get frustrating to try to get the number of the same color to where there is a grid, which end up randomly appearing.

Overall I kind of liked this game, but after a while it just got more frustrating.  At first I did not know what I was doing and I still won in easy by randomly moving around the octopuses (or is it octopi?).  Once I knew what I had to do and not being able to get it to do it how I wanted the game just became too frustrating and I could not even get through the second difficulty level.  If you can get it to work well for you, then it might be fun, especially since this is a WiFi battle game, but personally I just got frustrated with it, as even with an hour of playing I could not get any better at managing the pointing, and mailed it back.

Did you vote with the majority? Was your prediction correct?

The newest National poll is Is it harder for you to forgive someone or to ask for forgiveness?  I am going to vote that it is harder to ask for forgiveness and predict that the majority will say the same.

What is your answer to this poll and what do you predict will be the most popular?

Wii New Releases February 9-15, 2009

Published by kjscrafts under New Releases Edit This

Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Deadly Creatures  - This is a third person action thriller game.  It is set in the desert.  You play as a scorpion or a tarantula and fight against other deadly creatures of the desert including Gila monsters, lizards, and black widows.  It looks like the graphics might be pretty amazing for this game.

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

NASCAR Kart Racing - I love kart racing games and even though I am totally not into NASCAR (I do not dislike it, but I do not follow it either) this game is on my list to try out.  It looks like it might turn out to be a decent kart racing game, although to be honest it is not like there is anything good in this genre for the Wii besides the awesome Mario Kart (at least not that I have tried).  Unfortunately, it sounds like this one has no online gameplay capability.

OneChanbara: Bikini Zombie Slayers  - This is a sword fighting action adventure game.
House of the Dead: OVERKILL - This is a zombie shooter game.
