Gamestop’s Top 8 of 2008 Wii Games

Published by kjscrafts under Uncategorized Edit This

Recently Gamestop made some top 8 of 2008 lists for the different current platforms.  Below is the 8 games on the Wii list:

  • Animal Crossing: City Folk
  • Mario Kart Wii
  •  Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  • Wii Music
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
  • Call of Duty: World at War
  • Guitar Hero: World Tour
  • Rock Band 2

Overall I agree with the games that made their list, especially Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, and Rock Band.   There are a few games that I found to be in my top 10 for 2008 that did not make the list and I think should have, such as LEGO Indiana Jones, but overall it makes sense unlike the DS one.

New Everybody Votes Poll

Published by kjscrafts under Uncategorized Edit This

I do not have the info for the latest Everybody results because I voted for the question that just ended on a different Wii than my one at home and now cannot get those results.

The newest National poll is You’d like to make a sizable donation to a charity.  Do you do so…Anonymously or With credit given?  It kind of depends, but I guess I would probably want credit given.  I am going to predict that most will say they would give with credit given.

What is your answer to this poll and what do you predict will be the most popular?

Lack of Wii New Releases December 8-14, 2008

Published by kjscrafts under Uncategorized Edit This

Usually on Sundays I post about new releases for the coming week, but according to Gamestop the only one that is expected to be released this week is Neopets Puzzle Adventure.  However, I have been playing the Nintendo DS version and checked the Neopets site yesterday and it says the Wii version is not supposed to be released until January 2008.  Thus I assume Gamestop is just yet again slow on updating the new release date.  It seems kind of odd that with the holiday season there really is not any new releases, but that is what it appears to be like this week for the Wii.  At least that also means no new things to add to my already too big of a list for my rental queue.

Black Friday Wii Deals

Published by kjscrafts under Uncategorized Edit This

Looking through the ads yesterday I noticed some interesting Wii Black Friday deals, although nothing too spectacular that I wanted.   The most interesting deal I noticed was the Sam’s Club Ultimate Wii Bundle, which comes with the console, two extra Wii remotes, two extra nunchucks, King of Clubs, and Mario Super Sluggers for $425.  I think a few other places had bundles with games, but this one stood out because it had the extra Wii remotes and nunchuks.

Some game deals I noticed were $9.99 games at Best Buy that included Wonder World Amusement Park, AMF Bowling, Disney Princess Enchanted Journey, and Game Party.  Gamestop is offering Wii Fit with a free Wii Fit reuseable shopping bag.  Toys R Us is offering Rayman Raving Rabbids 1 for free when you buy Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party at regular price.

Do you plan/did you get any good Black Friday Wii deals?

Wii Fits and Wiis in Stock

Published by kjscrafts under Uncategorized Edit This

Tonight I went to Game Stop as it was closing to get something for my brother as a reward if he behaves this weekend.  We decided to do it at 8:30pm and got there right before it closed.  I quickly picked out a game and a movie, which hopefully he thinks are worthwhile.  Anyways as the guy was looking for the used movie that he ended up not finding, I noticed they had a sign saying Wii Fits Now in Stock.

So, now I finally have a Wii Fit.  The guy said he had never seen so many Wiis and Wii Fits in stock and staying in stock.  I also noticed the Wiis in stock at Target today.  It seems Nintendo is finally catching up to demand, people are not buying as much because of the economy, or it is part of an early big push for the holidays.

I Wish You Could Play Nintendo DS on the Wii

Published by kjscrafts under Uncategorized Edit This

The other day I was talking with my brother about how he missed being able to play the Game Boy Advance games on the Gamecube now that he only has his Wii plugged in for playing Gamecube and Wii games.  The thing is the Game Boy Player is very specialized and does not transfer over as Wii compatible.  Thus that got me thinking how the DS can connect to the Wii wirelessly and I how I have used it as part of a few games, such as Big Beach Sports to draw the custom face and Pokemon Battle Revolution to transfer Pokemon to the Wii game from my DS game.

So, I have come to the conclusion that I want Nintendo to make a new channel to play the games in a DS on the television.   Now I am not saying that DS games would make a good transfer to the television screen and using Wii controllers, but I would like to be able to play the Game Boy Advance games on the television screen through the DS using the classic controller or something like that.  Now sure they could develop a new Game Boy Player, but that would be an extra hardware thing and I would prefer to just be able to do it with what I have.  Another option, though, is to make them playable through the Gamecube cord for connecting a Game Boy Advance (I have on of these!).  Actually that would be even better because then they could allow for playing old Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, too.

Probably will never happen, but boy would I actually make my first Wii Shop purchase if they made this as a new channel and you had to pay for it.
