Rapala Fishing Frenzy - This new fishing game is likely better than the first, which I heard was bad, but never tried for myself to say if it really is bad or just those people do not like fishing.  Anyways, it sounds kind of cool because it includes fishing at popular North American fishing spots like the Ozarks.

Defendin’ de Penguin - I love penguins a lot, so I have been waiting for this game.  I am not going to go out and buy it right away, as instead my September waste of money on a game I have not played is going towards my preorder of Harvest Moon coming out later this month.  It is, however, on the top of my GameQ to rent.  Basically this is a strategy game of defending the penguin village from their enemies (probably skuas and seals) who eat their fish.

New Everybody Votes Result and Poll

The newest results are in for the poll on Which discovery was more beneficial? Fire or the Wheel.  The majority (65.8) said fire.  The breakdown by gender was again pretty similar with 66.1% of males and 65.4% of females saying fire.  The National Prediction Accuracy was 62%.

Did you vote with the majority? Was your prediction correct?

The newest poll is Which is  more interesting subject? Psychology or History.  That is an easy one for me considering I did get my bachelors in History and loved the subject.  Kind of extra biased against Psychology right now because I am tired of going through my grandma’s study and listing her psychology books on eBay, so I can clear it out and turn it into my soap/writing studio.

What is your answer to this poll and what do you predict will be the most popular answer?

New Everybody Votes Result and Poll

The newsest results are in for the poll on How many music concerts gave you been to in the last month?   The majority (86.3%) said five or fewer.  The breakdown by gender was pretty similar with 85.9% of males ans 87% of females sating Five or fewer.  The National Prediction Accuracy was 73.6%.

Did you vote with the majority? Was your prediction correct?

The newest poll is Do you dress your pet(s) in costumes?  That would be a big NO for me.  For one, I do not currently have a pet.  Two, if I did it would be a fish.  Three, I think it is just plain ridiculous to dress pets in costumes.  I think the majority will say no.

What is your answer to this poll and what do you predict will be the most popular answer?

I Wish You Could Play Nintendo DS on the Wii

Published by kjscrafts under Uncategorized Edit This

The other day I was talking with my brother about how he missed being able to play the Game Boy Advance games on the Gamecube now that he only has his Wii plugged in for playing Gamecube and Wii games.  The thing is the Game Boy Player is very specialized and does not transfer over as Wii compatible.  Thus that got me thinking how the DS can connect to the Wii wirelessly and I how I have used it as part of a few games, such as Big Beach Sports to draw the custom face and Pokemon Battle Revolution to transfer Pokemon to the Wii game from my DS game.

So, I have come to the conclusion that I want Nintendo to make a new channel to play the games in a DS on the television.   Now I am not saying that DS games would make a good transfer to the television screen and using Wii controllers, but I would like to be able to play the Game Boy Advance games on the television screen through the DS using the classic controller or something like that.  Now sure they could develop a new Game Boy Player, but that would be an extra hardware thing and I would prefer to just be able to do it with what I have.  Another option, though, is to make them playable through the Gamecube cord for connecting a Game Boy Advance (I have on of these!).  Actually that would be even better because then they could allow for playing old Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, too.

Probably will never happen, but boy would I actually make my first Wii Shop purchase if they made this as a new channel and you had to pay for it.

New Everybody Votes Result and Poll

The newest results are in for Do you remember the name of the first school you attended?  The overwhelming majority of 81.7% said they do remember.  The breakdown by gender was 83.4% of females and 80.8% of males.  Apparently women really do have a better memory than men or there could be other factors involved and it is not like it is that big of a percentage difference between the genders.  The National Prediction Accuracy was 78.7%.
Did you vote with the majority? Was your prediction correct?

The newest poll is How many television sets are in your home?  Three or fewer or More than three.  For me I just have two and since my bedroom is still a mess I only use my gaming one in the living room.  I am predicting most will say three or fewer, as I do not know many people with a enough rooms to warrant that many televisions.  The house I grew up did have five and still has four now that I moved out and took mine, but so many other people I know only have three or less.  That said I would not be surprised if more than three wins, but I think it will be a close poll either way.

What is your answer to this poll and what do you predict will be the most popular answer?

Wii Shop Releases August 25, 2008

Today  a new WiiWare game and 2 new Virtual Console games were released on the Wii Shop Channel.

Helix - This new WiiWare game costs 1,000 points.  This sounds like a cool game.  It is a music-rhythm game.  It supposedly is also good for exercise and easy for everyone as it does not use any buttons just the movements of the Wii remote and nunchuck.

Ys Book I & II - This game was originally made for TurboGeofx 16 and costs 800 points.   This is an adventure game with you playing as a swordsman in an ancient kingdom.

Samurai Showdown - This game was originally made foe NeoGeo and costs 900 points.  This is a fighting style game.

Wii New Releases August 25-31, 2008

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 All-Play - Yet, another gold game being released.  Don’t worry it is not the last, though, as if you read on in this post you will notice a second one being released this week.  Maybe, golf is great on the Wii, but really are they different enough to warrant so many being released and so close together?

Thursday, August 28, 2008

Freddi Fish: Kelp Seed Mystery - Most gamers probably will not care about this release, but for those looking for a good game for younger kids to be able to play on the Wii this is a good one.  This is part of a series once only made for computers.  Should be interesting to see how this ends up as a Wii game.  I am sure it will be better than Cosmic Family, which is the only other educational game just for young kids I know of on the Wii.

Pajama Sam in Don’t Fear the Dark - This is another game for young kids made by the makers of Freddie the Fish.

Spy Fox in Dry Cereal  - This is an action adventure game for kids.  This is not quite as a young aimed game as the other two, though.  Sounds like it has some educational aspects with solving puzzles.

Mario Super Sluggers - Okay, I keep saying there are too many golf games, but I am too biased to really say there are too many baseball games for the Wii, however, I will admit there has been too many released recently and it would have been better if they were more spread out.  That said this is the one I have been anticipating the most since I was disappointed by the controls of Backyard Baseball 2009 .

Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli  - This is an racing game with you driving Ferrari’s.  Supposedly gives you a real feel of driving a Ferrari without having to own one.

Friday, August 29, 2008

Kidz Sports: Crazy Golf  - This is the second golf game being released this week.  This appears to be a mini-golf only one though.

Ford Off Road Racing  - Go off roading in this game without worrying about ruining your real-life vehicle.

The newest poll is Which discovery has been more beneficial? Fire or Wheel.  I am going to vote fire.  I am going to predict most will say wheel just because.  Really they both are beneficial and also not so beneficial to have been discovered.

What is your answer to this poll and what do you predict will be the most popular answer?

How to Play Wonder World Amusement Park, Part 3: Spooky Area

Published by kjscrafts under Games, Party Games Edit This

Part 3: Spooky Area

This area is unlocked by purchasing a pass from the Carnival prize shop.

Games

Stake Out: This game costs 25 tickets to play. This is a shooting game in which you shoot at the vampires, bats, maidens, and doves trying to rack up points before time runs out. The doves are worth the most.

Where The Heart Is: This game costs 25 to play. In this game you try to put a stake in a vampire’s heart. The tricky part is that he moves around in the dark and you only see his eyes. It gets really hard in the end because it is hard to tell if he is upside down, sideways, or right side up. The controls are easy, though, with you just aiming with the Wii remote and flicking the nunchuck to throw the stake.

Mummy Twist: This game costs 50 tickets. In this game you try to unwind the mummy more than your opponent without entirely unwinding the mummy. There are 5 rounds with one turn per player each round. To unwind the mummy you point at the stick or spin buttons and press A to select. At the beginning you are going to want to use your turn to spin the mummy. To spin flick the Wii remote to the left or right. If you think your Mummy is unwound low enough to win you can skip your turn by selecting stick.

Brain Dump: This game costs 10 tickets. In this game use the nunchuck to rotate the catapult and then you pull the Wii remote towards you to launch a brain. The object of the game is to shoot as many zombies as you can before time runs out. Personally I found this to be one of the more complex games to actually implement the controls successfully.

Shut Your Trap: This game is free to play. In this game you aim with the nunchuck and then thrust the Wii remote forward to jab the plants. If you hit three in a row, then you get a 30 point bonus.

Bah Bah Boo!: This game costs 10 tickets. This is a game you herd sheep into their pen. It is kind of frustrating and I gave up on it after one try.

Part 1: Carnival Area

Part 2: Fairytale Area
